The weekend of the 24th – 26th October saw the Maclaren Scout Troop have a Tunnel Camp. Based at 1FG HQ, their Friday evening was spend firstly setting up the camp on the field, followed by the cinema experience (thanks to Mike) in the hut with popcorn and hot chocolate. Saturday morning breakfast was followed by an extremely full day in Liverpool. Catching the bus from Frankby Green, the troop arrived in Liverpool and visited the Williamson Tunnels, Metropolitan Cathedral, St Georges Hall Gardens for a spot of lunch, The Kingsway Mersey Tunnel, the Albert Dock (sweet shop), then catching the ferry, train and bus back to HQ for a fajita tea, camp fire and another movie before collapsing into their tents for a well earned rest. Sunday morning was cooking breakfast outside then a geocache hike into Royden Park and Thursaston Hill before returning back to HQ for lunch and packing up camp.
A fantastic weekend was had by all, and thanks goes to David, Dave, Mike and Heather for arranging everything for the troop over the weekend. This truely was Everyday Adventure, and a weekend that they will remember for a long time to come.
