    Current News

After 40 years of helping to support 1st Frankby Greasby Scout Group, our Scout Hut has finally had a face lift. Although we have had plenty of work meets and had painted inside many times, with the walls and skirting board frequently changing colour, we had never painted the outside of the hut. It was time for a lick of paint, magnolia???

Armed with paint brushes and rollers, Parents, Leaders, Cubs, Scouts and a lot of eager Beavers set to work paintng the outside of the hut, which had already been prepared by a Group of managers from MBNA bank. We found painting the actual breeze blocks easy, however the hardest part to paint was the mortar between them, as you needed a lot of paint. As well as painting the walls out went the old deisel heating storage tank, which was no longer needed.

As well as painting the outside of the Hut a team of parents from the Playgroup, who use our hut, also painted the inside. No more football games allowed!!!!! We also were able to repair the pot-holed track leading to the hut and demolish an old blue storage container. The Group Scout Leader Chris and one of the cub leaders Matt loved their roles cheif demolishers, while the cubs loved fueling the fire.

After two days we were finally done, both inside and out. Here's to the next forty years.
